great head phones 2nd pair for my kid as she takes my wifes all the time
They are replaceable for $12.00. I am on my third set on this model. Both of the previous units developed shorts in the cord probably from my inadvertent pulling on the cord. They have each lasted about 10 years with heavy use. The first part to wear out is the inner ear pads with flaking. They are lightweight, comfortable and just as good soundwise as the more expensive Sennheisers. Highly recommended.
These are good, blocks off all sound so you stay focused, so when I'm in grind mode in the studio I'm in GRIND MODE. Only thing is, if listening on high volume in a tight place, like the car, EVERYONE will hear what your listening to. EVERYONE. Just wish somehow it would stay within the headphones, and you.
There may be better headphone, but he says it is a sound he is used to. My son in law is a recording engineer and has used these headphones for years. I bought a pair a few years ago to replace his long time, well used, chewed up ones. The new ones highlighted how much the old ones had deteriorated in sound. I was pleased to still find them and bought him a backup pair.
I have another paid, JVC Marshmellows that don't sound bad, but the ear foams began slipping off into my ear when I wanted to take them out and it's no fun to get those sucker out.The sound is deep, rich and clear. I can't believe I wanted to get a bigger pair than these. I can subtly hear more than I could before when i was only using the JVC marshmellows (they're great, excellent value paired with an iPod but they have a short chord - no room to roam). They look completely crazy on my head, but they're pretty comfortable and they sound really good. I use these for my computer, which I game on and watch some HDTV. These units are pricey and some of the parts could have been made with metal rather then plastic, but they're a but more durable than the $24/50 Sony models out there. They totally fit over my ears and I'm hoping to keep these active for years.
